Getting started with MFP UI device licenses
The bizhub MarketPlace is compatible with the devices listed below. Please contact your Konica Minolta authorized support representative to ensure your device is configured with the correct firmware. If an app has special requirements, the supported models will be noted on that app's page in the Market.

A: bizhub MarketPlace's App Manager will allow you to check for updates to your apps. In the App Manager section, an Update Count will appear to show you how many updates are available. Apps that are available to be updated will have an Update button next to them. Please note that an Internet connection must be available in order to install updates; however, an Update Count may still be visible when there is no active Internet connection available.
A: Yes, as long as it is being moved to the same MFP model. To install the MFP UI Device License on a different MFP model, a new license will need to be purchased.
A: Applications can be removed from your MFP using the bizhub MarketPlace. To make sure that only authorized users remove the apps, you will be required to enter an MFP admin password in order to begin this process. See the bizhub MarketPlace User's Guide for more information.
A: No. While purchasing with a credit card is convenient, the license can also be purchased from your MFP reseller. Purchasing from Konica Minolta resellers is highly recommended because they can assist with the overall experience and provide any local support that you may require.
A: No. Only one MFP UI Device License is required per MFP, regardless of the number of custom MFP UIs that will be installed on it.
A: In general, it is recommended to run the latest firmware version available for your MFP with the function level set to the value specified in the firmware release notes.
MFP UIs are supported on all models running IWS v2.0 and higher. Chameleon firmware is required for advanced remote device control functionality (e.g., assigning apps to menu buttons, hard keys, soft keys, or to run by default; changing the admin password, etc.).
A: Installation of the MarketPlace application can only be performed by a authorized service technician. Installation is FREE, but your MFP must be optimized for Internet connectivity (additional charges may apply). Please contact your sales or service provider for installation, and soon you'll be eligible to download exciting bizhub MarketPlace offerings.
A: Once you've found an app that you'd like to purchase, you can add it to your Shopping Cart by clicking on the Buy Now icon underneath the app. At this point, you will go directly to your Shopping Cart where you can view all of the apps that have been added.
A: The IWS version is listed in the "IWS function level" table on the last page of the firmware release notes for the firmware that is installed on the MFP.
A: It's easy to find the apps that you want. Click on the Market link on the top menu bar and you will see a list of available applications, organized into various categories. When you find an app that interests you, click on that item's Learn More button to access more information, such as a detailed description of the app, a screenshot of the app, a link to the app's User's Guide, and more.
A: To purchase and download apps from the MarketPlace, you need to log in or create an account with us first.
If you are a returning customer who has already created an account with us, you can simply enter your username and password in the Login form on the left-hand side of the page. When complete, click the Login button.
If you are a new customer, you can select the Create Account link below the Login form to be directed to an Account form. At this point, you'll need to supply the following information to create your account:
- Your email address
- First name/Last name
- Phone number
- Address (including city, state/province, and zip/postal code)
When you are done, select the Save button and your account will be set up!
However, you can also wait until you are ready to purchase your apps to create your account. In this case, you will be directed to create an account before you check out.
A: Purchasing an App is a short process.
- After you add an app to your Shopping Cart, click on the Checkout button in the Shopping Cart.
At this point, you will be asked to log into your account (or create a new account) if you haven't done so already.
Next, you should enter your billing and credit card information, if necessary. Click the Next button when you are done.
- The final step is to review your order on the Confirmation page; when you are done, select the Place Order button to purchase your apps!
A: When you click on the Your Account link from any page on the bizhub MarketPlace web site, you can view your account information as well as a list of all apps that you have installed and purchased.
A: You can access the contents of your Shopping Cart at any time by clicking on the Cart link that is at the top of every page of the bizhub MarketPlace web site. To remove an app from the cart, check the Remove box in the item's row.
A: The only limitation is the memory in the MFP, which typically allows for more than 100 custom MFP UIs to be installed.
A: KMBS will not collect any personally-identifiable information about you (such as your name, address, telephone number, or e-mail address) unless you provide it to us voluntarily. KMBS will not reveal any personal information you provide to us without your permission. If requested, KMBS may have one of its authorized dealers or value added resellers contact you, in which case, your personal information will be provided to KMBS' authorized dealer or reseller to assist them in providing customer service to you.

A: Yes. bizhub MarketPlace apps are transferable if they are removed from one MFP and installed on a different MFP, using the same user account.
A: Yes. You can install a custom MFP UI on an MFP as a Demo for a free 15 day period.
A: No. There is no product to download or install. bizhub MarketPlace Chameleon is a grouping of features that have been added to the bizhub MarketPlace.
A: There is no cost for creating custom MFP UIs. You can create as many custom MFP UIs as you'd like for free and try them out on an MFP for a free 15 day demo period. In order for the custom MFP UI to remain permanently on the MFP, an MFP UI Device License must be purchased and installed on that MFP.
Q: What is IWS?
A: IWS stands for "Internal Web Server" and is the technology that powers the bizhub MarketPlace. Some bizhub MarketPlace apps require a minimum version of IWS to operate. This requirement is listed on the details page of each app.
A: Konica Minolta wants to provide everyone with access to these powerful tools, so they are available to everyone who has a bizhub MarketPlace account -- at no charge. There is a small license fee to unlock the MFP, which allows for custom MFP UIs to run permanently on the MFP.
A: There are many features included, such as tools to build, install and manage custom MFP User Interfaces (UIs), enterprise management of bizhub MarketPlace apps and custom MFP UIs on MFPs, etc.
A: The "Pending Install" notification appears because the MFP only communicates with the bizhub MarketPlace every 1-2 hours by default.
To adjust this, do the following:
- Log into the bizhub MarketPlace's App Manager at the MFP.
- Tap on the Settings button.
- Tap on the Device tab.
- Use the Max Refresh Rate drop-down list to select a new communication interval.
- You can also force synchronization by tapping on the Sync Now button.
To quickly force synchronization at the MFP, tap on the Konica Minolta logo while in the bizhub MarketPlace.
